What's New in AWARDS - July 2024
New Permission - Hospitals Data Entry (Now Effective!) - July 31st
A few weeks ago, we introduced a new Data Entry Access permission called Hospitals Data Entry (effective 7/31/2024). This permission will limit which workers have the ability to add new or edit hospitals in the list under the Hospitals module and whether they have the Add New option in the Hospital/Facility dropdown on a Hospital Episode record.
We created the permission, but left it ineffective until now to provide ample time to assign the permission to the workers who need it to avoid a lapse in their ability to add new or edit hospital records. As of Wednesday, July 31st, the permission is now active and the updated permission name is: Hospitals Data Entry.
New Permission - Edit Program Name - July 31st
We have created a new permission that will allow users to edit existing program names. Until now, you would need to ask Foothold Support to make the edit. Now, users with the new Exception Override permission: Edit Program Name, will be able to edit existing program names!
Please note: if you edit a program name and have saved report formats or custom groupings that include the previous program name within the filters, you will need to update the filters in the saved report formats or custom groupings to include the new/updated program name.
Navigation Improvements - Roster Archives Checkbox Setting Remains Selected - July 31st
Previously, when a client was selected with the Roster Archives box checked, the client selection would sometimes reset when navigating between modules. This required the user to re-select the client and checkbox in the next module. Now, when the Roster Archives box is checked, the selection settings will remain in place when navigating between modules. This enhancement reduces both the number of clicks and amount of time spent while working with a single Roster Archives client from module to module.
OASAS Regulatory Changes Due 8/1/24 - July 31st
New OASAS Regulatory changes go into effect 8/1/24, and we’ve been working hard to ensure AWARDS is updated to accommodate the new requirements. Below you’ll find a summary of the updates in AWARDS.
Changes on the Intake Form
- OASAS expanded the options for the Hispanic Origin question. New options include: Central American, Columbian, Dominican, Ecuadorian, Guatemalan, Honduran, Peruvian, Salvadorian, and South American.
- New Medication Assisted Treatment Question on the PAS-44 and PAS-47 forms.
- Some additional label changes were made for consistency.
A New OASAS Annual Update Form
- A new PAS 26N Opioid Treatment Annual Update (OTAU) form is required as an annual update for all program types.
- A new OASAS Annual Update section was added to the Face Sheet to give easy access for users to annually update the required fields on the PAS 26N.
- There’s a new question under the Treatment Plan heading with a “check all that apply” option.
- Before a client’s first Annual Update is completed, the fields on the Face Sheet will display as blank/empty. After the first update is completed, the fields will be populated and there will be an Annual Update index.
