AWARDS Redesign Updates

The AWARDS Redesign initiative is an exciting project to rework the design of AWARDS making it more modern, more efficient, and more user-friendly.

Testing and Release Timeline for AWARDS Enhanced Authentication!

Below you’ll find a general timeline from now until the release of Enhanced Authentication to all databases. Once we deploy and finish our internal testing, you will have a 2-week period to perform testing in your agency’s sandbox testing environment. We anticipate all testing to be complete and Enhanced Authentication released to all databases in Q4.

If you're a System Admin for your agency, please watch your inbox for some important communication from us to help you prepare for your agency's sandbox testing. Meanwhile, please take some time to review the Enhanced Authentication page here in the Resource Center. The page includes:

  • Critical information to help you understand why this project is important
  • Guidance on the tasks you/your agency need to complete
  • Details about what to expect from Foothold over the next several weeks
  • A growing list of FAQs!

Pin Your Favorite/Most Used AWARDS Modules and Forms!

We are excited to introduce the AWARDS “Favorites” feature! This is a convenient way for you to access your most-used modules and forms. At the top of the left-side global navigation menu, you’ll now see an option called Favorites. Select the star icon next to your most used “favorite” modules or forms and those will be added as shortcuts to your Global Navigation Favorites. Some things to keep in mind:

  • Your favorites will appear in a single alphabetized list
  • Your list of favorited items may vary depending on the program you’ve selected in the Program selection drop-down
  • You can only pin favorites for yourself
  • There is no audit trail for pinning favorites
  • Pinned favorites will follow existing permissions, so you can only pin modules/forms you currently have access to
  • You can review more FAQs here

Breadcrumbs Added to More AWARDS Pages/Modules for Easier Navigation

Breadcrumbs show the click path you’ve taken within a module. While many AWARDS pages already include a breadcrumb path, some older AWARDS pages have not. We have now added breadcrumbs to pages in client record-related modules like Progress Notes, Group Notes, Reception Desk, Contacts Logs, Entitlements, Nightlight Absences, and more. The last breadcrumb is a clickable link that takes you back to the beginning screen in the module - for most, it's where you make a client selection. This will give you a quick route to choosing another client to work with their records within the same module without having to reroute through the global navigation menu again.

Coming Soon! AWARDS Enhanced Authentication

Over the past several months, we've talked a lot about Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), the use of Auth0, and the importance of a unique Primary Email Address in your AWARDS profile. These things are all part of an "Enhanced Authentication in AWARDS" project, and we are happy to announce that it is scheduled to be released very soon, with testing sandboxes to help you prepare!

What does all of this mean? And what do you need to do to prepare? Those are great questions! This project is a significant one, and you must be ready. To help you prepare, we've created a new Enhanced Authentication/Auth0 page here in the Resource Center. This page includes:

  • Critical information to help you understand why this project is important
  • Guidance on the tasks you/your agency need to complete
  • Details about what to expect from Foothold over the next few months
  • A growing list of FAQs!

As we get closer to the sandbox testing period, we will provide additional resources like training videos, tips sheets, and webinars, as well as instructions for accessing the texting sandboxes.

Meanwhile, please check out the new page and let us know if you have any questions!

Client Chart Navigation - New Feature Now Live!

We are excited to announce that the new Client Chart Navigation feature is now available in AWARDS!

This feature is a major step in allowing you to work more efficiently in AWARDS, with a client-centric focus and workflow. The Client Chart Navigation feature includes a client information header and a client chart navigation menu at the top of pages that are part of a client’s chart. The header displays the client’s basic demographic and contact information and includes a Go To menu from which a user can quickly go to other areas and records for the same client. See screenshots below:

"Go to" Menu

These new features will make chart navigation easier and more efficient with fewer clicks for your documentation across modules for one client. You can still navigate through AWARDS using the main global navigation menu you’re familiar with, but we are happy to bring you new shortcuts to help make AWARDS overall easier to use.

March 2023 -  The AWARDS Login Page & Email Requirement for Multi-Factor Authentication

We recently shared an update about our work on the AWARDS login page. We are working to introduce new multi-factor authentication methods, streamline our password reset functionality, and enhance the security of your database to keep your clients’ data safe. Initially, we noted that in order for this to happen by our Q2 deadline, we needed you to make sure that all user accounts in your AWARDS database are associated with a unique email address. We have received feedback from multiple customers that this is a difficult endeavor to gather and enter email addresses for every one of their AWARDS accounts. With this in mind, we have decided to split apart some of the work we are doing - thereby allowing us to push off the email and multi-factor authentication requirements until a bit later this year (not in Q2).

This email requirement is still on the horizon though, so please continue to gather and enter email addresses into your system for each user. In the meantime, if you do not have a unique email address for each of your user accounts, we have a few tips that can potentially help alleviate this issue for you. Click to read more.
